What a load of bull.
WHAT IT IS A list with the graphical mods I’m using. It might perhaps be somewhat useful to others as questions about which texture replacers etc. That are recommended are quite common. In some cases texture replacers are overlapping, which often means that I’m using a particular replacer over one in a pack, but sometimes means that I like different replacers and am switching between them.
For feedback and questions, check the thread on the Bethesda Forums:.CATEGORIES:When using lots of mods it's very much recommended to install/uninstall them with a mod manager. It makes, for example, trying out different texture replacers easy and hassle free. They also have other features that are helpful for mod users.– The one I'm using, perhaps mainly as I've used it since installing Skyrim the first time and am too lazy to switch now.
That said, it works fine and also keeps track of files installed by other mod managers (i.e. If you overwrite a texture installed by BAIN, NMM will restore it on uninstall).by Tannin – The most powerful mod manager with lots of features. For instance, it keeps mods isolated from each other so the data folder doesn't get cluttered up. If I started over from scratch I'd probably use MO.b y Wrye Bash Team – Wrye Bash's installer. Has lots of nice features, plus Wrye Bash has lots of useful features otherwise as well.by wrinklyninja & the LOOT Team – A load order tool, which is pretty much a must when using lots of mods.by ElminsterAU – An excellent tool with which you can clean, merge and patch plugins.by kapaer – Shows ingame information about objects when selecting them with the console open.
If you for example wonder from which mod a weapon comes, just open the console and click on it. Requires SKSE.When using lots of texture replacers, it’s more or less a must to use a couple of patches and plugins to get a stable game. I’ll not get into details here, but they will basically help the game to utilize more VRAM and RAM memory.by Boris Vorontsov – An ENB version stripped of all graphical enhancements so you’ll only get its memory patching feature, which helps a lot with heavily modded games. You’ll also need the latest Skyrim ENB binaries from. See S.T.E.P.' S guide for info on what the different features do and which settings to use.by sheson – The latest SKSE version comes with sheson’s Memory Patch included.
If you’re not using SKSE, is a separate version of it. If you’re unsure about how to set it up, guides you through it in detail. An alternative is to use SKSE and the premade SKSE.ini in.by kapaer – Fixes an error with memory allocation, making for safer save loads, without Infinite Loading Screens. Requires SKSE.by Altimor – Prevents the recursive function from causing stack overflow, which can cause CTDs. Helpful even with vanilla settings for uGridsToLoad, which is recommended anyway. Requires SKSE.
NOTE: I'm actually using uGridsToLoad=7 ATM and haven't noticed either worse performance or any AI oddities so I'll stick to it for the time being.by the SKSE team – Comes with the memory patch as said. It also comes with support for HD tint resolutions.
You need to addDisplayiTintTextureResolution=2048 (or even 4096 for some mods)to the SKSE.ini, alternatively use the premade SKSE.ini above.by kapaer – A must if you’re using lots of hair mods etc., as the game will CTD when opening/using the showracemenu without it.Many guides for ini tweaks are plain wrong, so the general recommendation would be to be wary of tweaking the ini settings. That said, I find FireFreak111's to be very useful when it comes to ini tweaking and other graphical tips as well. See defosh369's for additional shadow ini tweaks and BenTusi's for ini settings that stops decals and animations from popping in. NOTE: If you're using ENB's detailed shadows you can set the iShadowMapResolution in SkyrimPrefs.ini and Skyrim.ini to 1024 for some FPS boost as ENB draws the shadows. There are several mods that add graphical enhancements to the game and ENB and SweetFX are among the most popular. With ENB you can get parallax, ambient occlusion, detailed shadows and much more. SweetFX has a well-made sharpen filter named LumaSharpen, performance friendly anti-aliasing and more.
And they can be used together. ENB also has hundreds of presets that give everything from a fantasy look to looks that are close to vanilla but utilize various ENB effects. This isn't the place to list presets, but one of my favorites is by prod80. I'm using its effect.txt, enbeffect.fx and enbbloom.fx.by Boris Vorontsov – The base package and all you need to get ENB to work. Personally, I don't like any preset I've tried enough to actually use it for my normal gameplay, although I appreciate the work and expertise that have gone into many of them, so I'm using a tweaked version of the 'vanilla' release by Boris Vorontsov in which I've 'stolen' settings from several different presets. For more info about ENB settings etc., see STEP's.by mindflux – 'Skyrim has a few object meshes that have their shader or blending properties set incorrectly. As a result, many of these objects react to an incorrect category in enbseries.ini; for example, the intensity of whitewater foam might be set by the intensity of FIRE instead of PARTICLE, most likely resulting in bright foam at night. The aim of this little patch is to fix all these inconsistencies so that the affected objects react to a correct category.'
By CeeJay.dk – I'm using it for its SMAA anti-aliasing. With ENB you shouldn't use Skyrim's standard anti-aliasing (but you can use its FXAA), so you should rather use the anti-aliasing variants that come with ENB and/or, for example, SweetFX. By Bethesda – I use this as a base. A lot of it is covered by replacers, but far from everything.by the Unofficial Patch Project Team – 'A comprehensive bugfixing mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Hi-Res DLC, the goal of the Unofficial Hi-Res Patch (aka UHRP) is to eventually fix every bug with the Hi-Res DLC not officially resolved by the developers to the limits of the Creation Kit and community-developed tools, in one easy-to-install package.' By Starac – My favorite general texture replacer. Not available on TES Nexus, so easiest to google for it.by Frozunswaidon – Retextures of the landscape and roads. Comes in 1K and 2K versions.by MysteryModder & Skunky123 – Excellent pack which complements SRO well.by osmodius – My favorite parallax pack.
There are several popular alternatives, but I find that the other ones I’ve tried tend to overdo it. Comes with separate versions for different texture overhauls. Requires ENB.by Brumbek – Excellent ongoing project which replaces tons of vanilla meshes.by Ethatron – “This is a replacer for all of the LOD files (excl.
Equipment and animationLooking for some new gear and armor? Not happy with how your character moves? Want some new weapons to carry and new ways to swing them?
Here's the place to start. Cloaks of Skyrim ⭐It's not real fantasy if people aren't wearing big flappy cloaks. Cloaks of Skyrim populates the world with a variety of new capes and cloaks, automatically adding them to the inventories of random guards and bandits and so on, which makes them look much more impressive. And then you can loot those impressive cloaks off their corpses.

It's worth adding as well, which prevents some of the clipping issues that otherwise ruin the effect. There's nothing to be done about Argonian and Khajiit tails, however, so this mod simply removes them when cloaks are worn. Fall of the Space Core ⭐A collaboration between Valve and Bethesda to celebrate the opening of the Skyrim Steam Workshop, this mod adds the space core from Portal 2. Yeah, the little guy who is obsessed with space. He falls to earth when you're near Whiterun and can be picked up, then crafted into armor. Make sure to keep an eye on your skills screen for another effect added by this mod. Unread Books Glow ⭐Want to know which skill books you haven't read?
Now they glow bright red. Spell tomes are green until you've learned their spells, and other books are different shades of blue depending on whether they trigger quests or not. The other advantage of this mod is that you can tell which books you need for that completionist library you're putting together at a glance. The Dance of Death and Violens ⭐. Download links:,Bethesda left several unassigned kill moves lurking in Skyrim's code when the game was released, including some very cool shield bash kills. The Dance of Death re-enables them and re-organises all kill moves so that they're gradually unlocked as you earn perks. It also includes a full menu that lets you control the rate of kill moves.
Alternatively there's Violens — A Killmove Mod, which features much of the same functionality but also works for ranged attacks. Immersive AnimationsImmersive Animations adds dozens of little touch-ups to Skyrim's existing animations, plus a few nifty new ones. It's also compatible with, allowing for all sorts of nice animations for having your shield on your back, or sheathing two weapons at once. Zim's Immersive ArtifactsMakes lore-friendly and balanced changes to many unique items in the game, including Auriel's Bow, the Gauldur Amulet, Harkon's Sword, the Jagged Crown, and plenty more, including artifacts from the Dawnguard and Dragonborn expansions. There are lots of customization options for the player in case they don't want all the items affected. Immersive WeaponsThis mod provides a hefty selection of new weapons that fit in nicely with the existing look and feel of Skyrim.
You'll find axes, daggers, maces, and any number of new swords, all beautifully designed and textured and suitable for veteran characters and those just starting out. Honed MetalDoes your character have better things to do than learn smithing, or are they opposed to getting their hands dirty like a common peasant? Dynamics gp lot tracking software. With this mod, you can simply hire blacksmiths to craft, temper, and hone your gear for you. It's a fantastic gold dump, as they'll automatically craft everything to the very best of their ability and charge you for it. Also different blacksmiths have different skills—the smith in Solitude can craft up to Legendary, but not so much the smith in Riverwood. Eorlund Gray-Mane is basically a smithing god.
MCM supported with lots of customization options.YY Anim Replacer — ZweihanderZweihander is a set of new animations for two handed weapons in Skyrim. The big selling point is the idle animation, which sees you resting your sword/axe/hammer on your shoulder. There's lots more than that though, with animations for running, turning and even a leaping overhead strike included. It's all customizable too, so you can mix and match new and old animations. Belt Fastened QuiversBelt Fastened Quivers moves all arrow quivers from the back, where they often clip through things like backpacks or cloaks, down to the waist, adding new animations for the new position. It was originally made as part of Frostfall, so if you're using that, you don't need the standalone mod. If you aren't, however, it's still well worth getting just to stop your arrows from clipping through the items from Immersive Amours and Wet and Cold.
Immersive ArmourThis mod brings you a huge collection of great-looking lore-friendly armor. And it's not just for you, either: the armors are assigned to various NPCs and randomized loot lists throughout the game. You can even turn individual armors on and off through SkyUI's configuration menu, giving you full control over what items actually appear in your game. BandoliersFancy installing some extra storage on your plate mail? This mod adds a whole range of pouches, belts, potion holders and water bottles that can be stuck on top of whatever clothes you're wearing in several configurations, giving you the look of a serious adventurer equipped for a long journey.
Warmonger ArmoryWarmonger Armory is another compilation mod. It adds a ton of great looking new armor, clothing and weapons to the game, including some using DLC equipment. Once again these items are carefully distributed around the world, given to specific NPCs, and added to randomized equipment lists. Wearable LanternsIf you're using some of the lighting mods you'll notice that nighttime in Skyrim has gotten much darker. Spells and torches can help, but warriors who want to use their off-hand are out of luck. Chesko's Wearable Lantern mod sorts out this problem, letting you clip a light source to your belt, front or rear. Companions can also carry the lanterns, and will automatically douse them when you enter sneak mode.

Unique UniquesSkyrim is full of unique items with fascinating lore behind them, but unfortunately very few of them have the looks to go with their backstory. InsanitySorrow's Unique Uniques adds new textures and meshes for several of the game's unique weapons, giving you a great excuse to bust out Dragonbane again. Project FlintlockA lot of games have been called 'Skyrim with guns' but now Skyrim fits that description too, thanks to this mod that lets you carry a blunderbuss, a flintlock rifle, and a grenade launcher.
